camera is also mostly focused on her during the SRH match. the lady is none other than
the co-owner of the team-Kavya Maran, whereas her father is the real owner of the
team. Her smile grabs all the cameras’ attention, and her enthusiasm for the team
raises the spirits of her team members on the field. But she is not only related to cricket
alone – she’s also a big figure in the media world, managing Sun TV Network, one of
India’s biggest media companies.


Who is Kavya Maran?


She holds a strong political background; she is the granddaughter of M. Karunanidhi, a
famous leader in Tamil Nadu, her father, Kalanithi Maran, is a business tycoon and the
owner of Sun TV and her granduncle, M.K. Stalin, is currently the Chief Minister of Tamil
Nadu. Though her study background is in commerce she always had an interest in the
media world and she took it as her profession and currently managing her father’s
channel named Sun TV Network, due to her leadership and guidance the channel is
climbing the ladder of success and Sun TV Network has grown into a giant in the Indian
media industry, with TV channels, radio stations, and more.


Getting Involved with SRH


Now the question arises how she entered the cricket world, so the answer to this is that
she entered the cricket industry in the year 2012 when her company, Sun TV Network,
bought the Deccan Chargers IPL team after the original owners had to sell it. She
changed the team’s name as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), and then within a short span
of time the team became one of the strongest team in the IPL.


Kavya has very good leadership skills, due to which SRH has always been performing
well, with a fusion of both experienced international players and fresh, young talent.
SRH’s consistent performance on the field is proof that she is handling the team very
nicely. The biggest achievement for SRH was in 2016 when SRH won their first IPL trophy
under coach Tom Moody and captain David Warner, proof of Kavya’s leadership skills
and strategic approach.

SRH has become a symbol of dedication and hard work – qualities that reflect Kavya’s
leadership. Over the years, SRH has built a loyal fan base, not just in Hyderabad but
across India. Fans go gaga for the team and its co-owner. With its orange and black colours jersey, the team’s theme, and the “Orange Army” slogan, the team is performing
very well in all their matches and leaving a strong blueprint in fans’ minds.
